HMO Visitor's Guide

For Out-patient Approval - Consultation

1. Initial Consultation 

  •  Proceed to the Information/Lobby for proper directions to the doctors' offices. Ask the information staff which type of doctor is suitable for your illness.
  • Proceed to the HMO Department on the 3rd floor and present one valid ID and health card to the HMO staff.
  • The HMO staff will contact the HMO company to verify the member's status and eligibility.
  • Once approved, the patient will sign the approved Letter of Authorization (LOA) and then proceed to the doctor's clinic.
  • Give the LOA to the doctor for signing.


2. Follow up consultation

  • Direct to the HMO Department on the 3rd floor, then present one valid ID and health card to the HMO staff.
  • The HMO staff will contact the HMO company to verify the member's status and eligibility.
  • Once approved, the patient will sign the approved Letter of Authorization (LOA) and then proceed to the doctor's clinic.
  • Give the LOA to the doctor for signing.


With Procedure and Laboratory request:

  • Direct to the HMO Department on the 3rd floor, then present one valid ID and health card to the HMO sThe HMO staff will contact the HMO company to verify the member's status and eligibility.
  • Once approved, the patient will sign the approved Letter of Authorization (LOA) and then proceed to the doctor's clinic.
  • Proceed to the designated department (Laboratories, Radiology, Heart Station, OB, Pulmo, etc.) and present the approved LOA to the hospital staff.


Admission Guide

Direct Admission

Refers to an approved patient for direct room admission without passing from the Emergency room complex patently of Bicutan Medical Center, Inc. with medically necessary and appropriate care and treatment or illness injury. 


1. Admitting order an order coming from the doctor that initiates the direct admission process, the date of the admitting orders, should be the same as the date of admission.


2. Before admission, our admitting staff will be requesting for the following:


  • Doctor's order for Admission indicating directives of personal physician regarding the patient's case 
  • Valid Identification Card with Photo
  • Accredited HMO-issued member's ID
  • Digitized SSS ID
  • Driver's License
  • GSIS ID 
  • Health insurance card or document
  • Integrated Bar of the Philippines ID
  • Passport
  • Persons with Disability ID
  • PhilHealth ID 
  • PRC ID
  • Senior Citizen ID 
  • Unified Multi-Purpose ID 
  • HMO or Insurrance Card
  • Letter of Guarantee or Letter of Authorization (LOA) from company or HMO Coordinator

3. Fill out and sign forms necessary for the admission process


4. Admitting staff will explain the policies of the hospital or what is indicated to the consent form.


Visitation Guidelines

Visitors are an important part of the healing process, and we encourage family and friends to visit. However, rest is very important to a patient. Hence, visiting hours and rules may vary on wards/units especially in Intensive Care Units.


1. Visiting Time: Visiting time shall be as follows:

 Non-Critical Areas (GNU/WARDS)

  • 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM
  • 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM


Adult and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit 

  • 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM


Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

  • 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM
  • 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM


2. Age of visitors: Children below 7 years old are not allowed, however, if there is a request from the patient, they may be allowed provided there is proper coordination with the charge nurse/ Supervisor on duty and guard on duty. Children should be primed by the family on what to expect to see and must be supervised at all times by a responsible adult who is not the patient.


3. Visitors' health: Any visitor exposed to or having a communicable disease (tuberculosis, measels, mumps, rubella, pertussis, flu or a cold, cough) should not visit patients.


4. Number of visitors: It is usually best to limit visitors to two (2) at a time, to respect the comfort of all our patients.


5. General Information: 

  • Staff memebers are happy to support the time you and your visitors have together. At times during your stay, they may ask visitors to leave for a short period while care is delivered or during some medical procedures.


  • Visitors should respect the privacy of others, stay quiet, and remain in the room they are visiting or in the waiting room. We aim to provide a calm and restful environment to help all the patients to recover.  


  • Visitors and watchers are requested to refrain from making noise. Gambling is absolutely prohibited in the hospital.


  • Visitors should not sit or lie on patient beds to prevent cross-infection.


  • Visitors must wear IDs at all times. IDs are available at Security Guard in the Hospital Lobby.


  • Only one (1) watcher is allowed per patient. Watchers should secure a Watcher's pass from the Security Guard at the Hospital Lobby.


  • Bringing of sleeping paraphernalia are not allowed for infection control purposes, however, patient's watcher may borrow linen or blanket from the nursing unit.


6. Smoking/ Drinking Alcoholic Beverages: Smoking and Drinking alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited in all areas of the hospital.


7. Use of Cellular Phones: The use of cellular phones is prohibited where critical medical equipment is in operation and within six feet of any electronic patient care equipment. If you must use your cellular phone, please speak in a low voice so as not to disturb other's. Cellphone charging is strictly prohibited. 

 

8. Restricted flower deliveries: Flowers for patients are welcome but there are some areas where flowers cannot be permitted under any circumstances especially in intensive care units where they may promote infection. We encourage you to check in with the nursing staff before sending or bringing flowers.


9. Bringing of firearms: For security reason, all firearms must be deposited at the security guard before entering hospital premises.


10. Bringing of latex balloons: Latex balloons, which can cause allergic reactions, are not permitted anywhere in hospital.


11. Special considerations: A religious group may be allowed to pray over, provided that the patient's status is stable and there is no on-going procedure at the bedside. The guard should coordinate with the head nurse/ charge nurse of the unit and NSOD. However, the number of persons to do pray- over should be limited in number because of limited space.

Visiting Guidelines (NICU)


1. Viewing Time for NICU/ Outborn:

  • 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM
  • 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

2. Only parents of critically ill neonates may be allowed to enter the NICU/ Outborn anytime with the permission of Attending Physician.


3. Visitors, except children may enter the NICU/ Outborn one at a time and shall strictly observe  hand washing, and no jewelry policy and must put on a gown and rubber slipper provided by the unit, as allowed by attending the attending Physician.


4. Cellphones are not allowed inside the NICU/ Outborn
